Buenos Dias Cafe

50% off Buenos Dias Cafe
Have one or maybe even five of Buenos Dias’ handmade Salvadoran pupusas, tacos or other Latin American favorites. Add on a fresh-made juice of the day or sweet cafe con leche, and you’ll be ready to tackle the day.

The staff at Buenos Dias has the kind of hospitality you normally wouldn’t find in a restaurant, but could maybe swing at your parents house. As a neighbor to Georgia State in downtown Atlanta, they’ve become very accommodating: gluten free? No problem. Vegetarian? They’ve got you. Don’t like onions? That’s weird, but OK, no onions. They’re making it all fresh in the back anyway, so they can do that sort of thing. They also made their menu accommodating for different levels of your hunger, so if you just want a snack, you can have just one taco or pupusa. Or you can have five. It’s up to you, really. And let’s talk about the aforementioned pupusas. With handmade corn tortillas stuffed with any variation of beans, cheese, vegetable or meat and served with pickled cabbage and salsa, this take on the Salvadoran classic is truly delicious (and naturally gluten free).

Open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday - Friday, Buenos Dias has breakfast, lunch, daily fresh juices with a slew of different fresh fruits and veggies (no concentrate, no sugar, nothing artificial) and a full coffee/tea bar for that morning or afternoon buzz. The space is fairly open with plenty of tables and even a couch for those who need a place to hang between classes and study. Much of the menu is designed to be quick and easy for the hungry on the go, but be sure to ask about cook times first if you’re in a hurry—the pupusas are more labor intensive, and can take a few minutes—but the friendly folks here are more than happy to be upfront with you. Whether you’re 18 or pushing a, uh, more mature vintage, Buenos Dias is serving up the kind of food that’d reassure even the most overbearing mother that you’re eating well and might actually make it on your own in this world.
