A thing that must be said: at Scoutmob, we are not always the healthiest of eaters. The current record for a massive Antico delivery is somewhere around 38.4 seconds, and a warm, fresh box of Sublime Doughnuts is enough to incite a small riot. But with the Feast of Turkeys on the horizon and a whole month of holiday noshing after that, we gotta say: we're a little concerned about how our waistlines might look in our favorite pair of pantaloons once December is over and out. On the road lined with bready stuffing, sugary cranberry sauce, a Labrador's weight in turkey, and God help us, pie, we're ever-so-slightly on the lookout for ways to insert a tiny bit of fresh and healthy into our diets.

And just like a sneaky, slender Santa swooping in under the cloak of darkness, one little beacon of healthy eating has popped up in Midtown just in time: dTox, a product line and juice cafe where the turkey-weary can give their bodies a break with fresh, local juices and, if the craving strikes, "healthy junk food" from Ooh La Raw's clean desserts. There's also the dTox Box, a sort of reset button for your insides that doesn't involve that cruel, bizarro lemon-cayenne-syrup starvation plan. Instead, you get a goodie bag of wholesome concoctions, like Red Juice (made with beet, carrot, cucumber, spinach, romaine, dandelion, ginger, and lemon) and Aloe Elixer (fresh aloe gel, pear, lemon). Sounds a bit healthier than whatever Paula Deen recipe you're fine-tuning for the big feast, no?

dTox held their grand opening this past weekend, which means you're free to stop in and get your slurp on. Working professionals can also rent tables by the hour for work, except instead of those adrenal-fatiguing espressos you've been chugging, you can now finally write that screenplay while sipping a wheatgrass elixir (for the truly addicted, though, organic coffees and teas are available). We're digging the duo behind dTox for giving us a healthy fruit-and-veggie alternative to the usual holiday fare... after all, we gotta look good for our New Year's Eve outfit.
