Archimedes had his bubble bath discovery, you have the penicillin you found in your sink when you came back from vacation, and the folks behind Frozen Pints had a fortuitous party foul. The eureka moment happened when a clumsy spill brought beer within close proximity to their home ice cream maker. When serendipity strikes, you gotta go with it... thus, down into the ice cream maker the craft beers went. The result? The beginnings of Frozen Pints, a line of deliciously boozy ice cream made right here in Atlanta. After coming up with concoctions like Malted Milk Chocolate Stout, Peach Lambic, and Honey IPA, the Frozen Pints folks took to the festival circuit, shilling their frosty wares and making some pretty rabid fans along the way.

The first reaction that the average person has after trying a scoop of Frozen Pint is normally to ruthlessly grill the purveyors about where, exactly, one can acquire a crate or two of the stuff. Or at least that's what I did. Here's the good news: we no longer have to stalk the festival circuits in search of our Brown Ale Chip fix. The dessert gods and booze angels have smiled kindly upon us this week, friends: Frozen Pints are now available at a couple retail spots around town.

Among the first to stock the goods are Hop City, Mac's Beer & Wine, Green's Beverages, Decatur Package Store, Smoke Rise Bottle Shoppe, and Smyrna World of Beverage. And this Thursday, you can ring in the good news at Hop City, where Frozen Pints is celebrating their release with a good ol' fashioned ice cream social. And let us all praise benevolent Lady Luck for perhaps one of the most delicious party fouls to ever befall a couple of entrepreneurs.

Save some Honey IPA for me, please.
