Local Hot Shots: Hotlanta Hot Sauce

Gosh darn it, if we could inject the peachy keen Hotlanta Hot Sauce into our veins, we just might do it. It's just that uniquely Southern hot sauce taste... when it hits your lips, we can't seem to get enough.

After enough meddling around and daydreaming, Thomas Wessels and Michael Walbert, took a leap of faith and enlisted the culinary skills of childhood friend David Paul to come up with the perfect spicy mix. After many trial runs, they finally concocted the perfect Original Sweet Southern Heat recipe: Which is equal parts love for Atlanta, homegrown peaches, Vidalia onions and painful habanero pepper sweat. (Sweat not actually included in the recipe.)

What to do with it? Make your hot wings hotter, toss it on pizza, eggs, anything BBQ-related. You could also bathe in it. Brush your teeth with it. Make it a staple in your condiment collection.

The sauce is being served on over 30 tables at different Atlanta restaurants. They also recently won a 2010 Scovie Award, a big blind hot sauce taste competition held annually in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Look for it locally or just buy it by the bulk. But remember, we do not condone injecting it. HotlantaHotSauce.com
