Some of us like to look, dress, surround ourselves, or at least be inspired by the styles of yore. This Scoutmob team included. So last week, we were itching (like a 100% Polyester scratch) to know where you go for the best old-school treasures:
ATLANTA'S FAVORITE PLACE TO FIND VINTAGE GEMS:
Our Scout Says:
Depends on what kind of vintage I'm hunting for. If we're talking home decor, I head straight to Highland Row Antiques first. Especially for their first of the month Basement Market, where they expand their downstairs to a whole slew of new (or extra) vendors. I always walk away from the place with some kind of awesomeness I totally didn't need, but for will forever love in my home.
And while I'll be the first to admit some of us can rock that vintage style better than others, my last-minute costumes have always been a hit from Rag-O-Rama. And for a seriously killer collection of kick-ass boots, vintage shirts, and kitschy sunglasses Clothing Warehouse has my vote.
You Says:
"Rag-o-Rama in Little 5... Kudzu in Decatur too!"
- Christopher Octa
"Stefan's in Little 5."
- Beth Dryden Daniell
"I like Rag-o-Rama... always a good find."
- Jason Etheredge
"Clothing Warehouse for clothes. Highland Row Antiques for tchotch (and great furniture, housewares, etc.)"
- Sarah Price
"Fainting Couch, Scarlett Loves Rhettro and Kudzu!"
- Jennifer Bhagia-Lewis
"Salvation Army. Once found an old school candy-striper nurse dress from Piedmont Hospital. Made for a kick-butt Halloween costume! Also, Scarlett Love Rhettro has some really neat finds."
- Stephanie Craven
"Paris on Ponce ain't too bad."
- Eileen O'Connor
