"No Vacancy" - Closing Reception

91 Broad St. (Downtown)

After living in a vacant Downtown building for three weeks, Atlanta artists Henry Detweiler and Ben Coleman transformed the innards of the space into a multi-room installation you quite literally must see to believe. And this week, it's ATL's last chance to get inside and take a peek in the medicine cabinets, so to speak.

The YES Girls Block Party & Second Line

Elliott Street Pub, 51 Elliott St. (Castleberry Hill)

The YES Girls have decided to help ATL live up to its party potential, so they’re throwing a Naw’lins-style shindig in the streets of Castleberry Hill to help us step up our game. Wasted Potential Brass Band, one of the only NOLA-esque bands in Atlanta, will be filling the streets with live music, and attendees are encouraged to let loose and march behind them like they’re at Mardi Gras. Afterwards they’re keeping the party going into the night at the Elliott Street Pub. Up to the challenge, ATL?

The curious little hidey-hole tucked behind a bookcase in Pizzeria Vesuvius turns one year young this weekend, and they're celebrating as a speakeasy should: with lots of things to imbibe. You didn't hear it from us.

The Carl Sagan vs. Black Dynamite Situation

The Goat Farm, 1200 Foster Street (Westside)

Are we human, or are we dancers? One can only answer that question by strapping on one's dance shoes, hurrying thyself to the Goat Farm and busting a move. They call it "cosmic funxploitation." We call it "a damn good dance party."

Let's help 'em settle in to their new home-sweet-home (slash halfway house) accordingly.
