There are a few ways to go about greeting baby new year. Some get a thrill from donning uncomfortable cocktail attire whilst sipping on some bubbly and dropping benji or two for a fanciful New Years affair. Still, there are those take comfort in their own home and an oyster box of Chinese take-out as the ball drops over Times Square on the television. Then of course there's those of us who greet the holiday with the best intentions but just can't seem to get it right. This year will be different. This year we will take part in a bit of affordable revelry that fully engages our hearts, minds and/or taste buds. Here are some NYE options that won't result in us kicking off 2014 with boredom or bankruptcy.

Laugh Until You Cry with the Good Folks of Dad's Garage
We can't think of a better way to ring in the new year than with some stitches (in our sides). The crew of Dad's Garage are here to help. The entire Dad's Garage Improv brigade will take the stage at 8 p.m. and will be offering up some palatable champagne taboot. (Now, if only we could figure out how to drink it without spit-taking.) Pro-tip: Snag your tickets early. This show is known for selling out in advance.

Party Hard with your favorite Cousin Dan at 529
Who needs to watch the ball drop on television when we've got our very own crooning, denim-vested and disco ball cod-pieced cousin to croon us all the way to midnight? Cousin Dan takes the stage at 529 with The Locksmyth, Miss Britta and DIP this New Years Eve, so bust off those leopard print leggings and high tops and get ready to make merry. Admission is only $10. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Luau Your Way To Paradise at Trader Vic's
Finally, an opportunity to dust of our favorite grass skirts from the summer's tiki bar outings. Trader Vic's is turning into its very own island in the sun this December 31st and hosting a luau to put Waikiki to shame. Treat yourself to a four course dinner for $60 or go for general admission for just $10. Either way ā€“ there will be Mai Tai's.

Ring in the New Year with Blondie, Kris Bell & Co. at the Clermont Lounge
There couldn't be a more bona fide Atlantan way to ring in the New Year than at the legendary Clermont Lounge. We've got no reservations about this one ā€“ $15 will get you party hats, horns, midnight champagne and musical performances from Kris Bell, Lefoot Messiah and Halls of Jupiter. (Not to mention a crushed beer can or two.)

A Sudsy and Food Trucked New Year with Monday Night Brewing
Delicious brews and eats? Say no more, friends. The good folks at Monday Night Brewing are hosting an NYE bash to end all NYE bashes. Chow down on good eats from the Pup Truck, Mac the Cheese {Comfort} Food Truck and Mighty Meatballs. Croon along to Tunes from The Regulars while sipping on your favorite brews or your whiskey of choice (champagne is so last year). Admission is just $85 in advance, snag your tickets here.
