Jimmy's Hot Chicken Pop-Up
Gato Bizco, 1660 McLendon Ave. (Candler Park)
Eater tipped us off to this brand-new pop-up, wherein one James Ellington (formerly of Holeman & Finch) is spearheading Jimmy's Hot Chicken, a weekly homage to the Nashville sauce-slathered bird, each Monday evening. (We have a feeling you might need to bring along some WetNaps.)

Chinese Shadow Puppetry: A Love Story
The Center for Puppetry Arts, 1404 Spring St. NW (Midtown)
We're all resolving to learn a little something new in the New Year. Why not this? The Center for Puppetry Arts, perhaps one of our favorite destinations for a little whimsy and imagination, is hosting a workshop introducing the delicate and beautiful art of Chinese shadow puppets, in addition to a little of the history behind the tradition.

Tim's Monthly Cheese Course
Star Provisions, 1198 Howell Mill Rd. (Westside)
Class is in session, students. The curriculum for this week? All things cheese, led by none other than Tim "The Cheese-Man" Gaddis himself. He and his cohort, Star Provisions' meat and seafood manager Darrin McCowan, will lead their starry-eyed pupils along a lipsmacking journey pairing three classic cured hams with three of Tim's favorite cheeses du jour. We can only pray there will be homework, and lots of it.

The Shadowboxers with Little Tybee
Eddie's Attic, 515-B N. McDonough St. (Decatur)
Two of Atlanta's most talented cadres of musicians are coming together for one intimate, harmonious evening of serenading us with their songwriting chops. Full disclosure: we're still in full-tilt swoon mode from Little Tybee's "Boxcar Fair", so we'll never really turn down a chance to witness these folks onstage.
