Saturday, March 22 – Saturday, March 29
Atlanta Science Festival

Various Locations

We’re channeling our inner Bill Nye and trotting all over the Atlanta this week – all in the name of science! Care to dabble in neuroscience? Want to take a deeper look at the cosmos? Go hunting for HIGGS or play with some robots? They’ve got it all. Check out their entire event program here. (Finally, an excuse to dust off our microscopes.)

Thursday, March 27, 7:30 p.m.
The Big Lebowl-ski

Midtown Bowl, 1936 Piedmont Circle

The Dude abides, and therefore we abide – enter the world of Duddhism with a celebration of all-things-Lebowski at Midtown Bowl. Got a bathrobe? Check. Want to bowl? Check. Want to drink a white Russian (or four)? Check, check and double-check.

Thursday, March 27, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Atlanta Food Truck Park's Second Anniversary VIP Tasting Party

The Atlanta Food Truck Park, 1850 Howell Mill Rd.

'Tis the season for outdoor eating – and there's no better (or tastier) way to celebrate than with samplin's and sippin's from Atlanta's most beloved fleet of food trucks. The park is celebrating their second anniversary with a rally of over fourteen food trucks with bites varying from pho and bahn mi to Southern Pecan gelato – and everything in between. We can’t think of a better way to welcome the dawn of 2014’s al fresco eats.

Saturday, March 29, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Downtown Pop-Up Party

Sweet Auburn Curb Market, 209 Edgewood Ave.

It’s no secret – we're big fans of the Sweet Auburn Curb Market. They’re hosting a fête for the opening the Downtown shopping season. There's simply no better place to get a sneak-peak to the upcoming season's wares. Especially since our friends from the Indie Craft Experience will be there too.

Does anything go together better than good food and film? Yes – film about food. Join the Atlanta Film Festival for a savory viewing of silver-screen bits, including a viewing of the documentary Sriracha. Afterward, saunter on down to the Highland Ballroom for libations and bites featuring the famed rooster sauce.

Entering its seventeenth year, the Junior League of Atlanta’s Tour of Kitchens grants us entry to 14 of the city’s fanciest residential kitchens – designed by some of our best interior designers. Celebrity chefs will be present for cooking demonstrations throughout the tours, including Chopped’s season four victor, Chef Ed Harris. Make sure to buy your ticket in advance for $35.

Saturday, March 29, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Baconfest

The Masquerade Park, 695 North Ave. NE

Dreams do come true. Don’t believe us? Well, take a gander at the 2,250 pounds of bacon that the good folks of Dad’s Garage will be serving up at the Masquerade Park this weekend and try to convince us otherwise. This unbridled bash is the manifestation of all of our favorite ‘b’ words – beer, bands, and bacon. Plus, the comedians of Dad’s crew will be delivering up debauchery all day long – anticipate carnival games (with an improvised twist, of course).
