Naked City: Hate

The Warhorse Café at the Goatfarm, 1200 Foster Street (Westside)

Does the term "literary performance" evoke images of cardigans and elbow patches? Happily, no tweed is required at the monthly installment of Naked City, whose theme for April is "hate." Come armed with your best story/song/poem/dance – or just come to bask in all of the above.

WRAS Fest

Mammal Gallery, 91 Broad Street SW

Ah, Album88: a sparkling oasis of obscure indie bands, Afrobeat, showtunes, television soundtracks, and so forth, in an otherwise somewhat arid, Rhianna-poxed desert of good radio stations. Celebrate the country's most powerful student-run radio station (it's true!) with live music (including Scoutmob faves Ringo Deathstarr) at the Mammal Gallery.

Vouched Presents: The Five Hundred

The Goatfarm, 1200 Foster Street (Westside)

You know that one longwinded buddy who takes twenty minutes to relay a brief anecdote? The folks taking the microphone at this shindig are pretty much the complete opposite. Each month, a group of intrepid writers is given one prompt and only 400-600 words to craft a story around it. They call themselves The Five Hundred, and a handful of them will be showing their stuff in the Goat Farm's Rodriguez Room in partnership with Vouched.
