ELEVATE is an annual public arts festival spearheaded by the Mayor's office to activate historic spaces in downtown Atlanta in need of revitalization. The kick-off party takes place on Friday 10/14, but you can check out all of this year's art (for free) through the 21st.

Atlanta Radical Book Fair

This inaugural installment of the Atlanta Radical Book Fair will host writers, publishers, artists, activists, and community organizations from the South who share a commitment to creating revolutionary, grassroots social change. The event will host several panels exploring themes such as the Black radical tradition, anti-racism, queer resistance, and the role of visual art in social action. Bring your bucks for the indoor market filled with books, zines, and art.

L5P Halloween Parade

If you've lost count, this will be the 16th year that Atlanta's most beloved parade will be hitting Euclid and Moreland filled with fiendish floats and ghoulish gangs featuring local Atlanta businesses and organizations. The parade begins at 4 p.m. but the neighborhood festivities begin around noon and last until the later hours. Take a gander at all of the shenanigans on L5P Halloween's official site.
Pro-tip: after the parade, head to the parking lot behind Star Bar to catch ATL band The Midnight Larks at 5:30 p.m.
