Manager Matt Hoey had me at “I’m a tea geek.” Toss in Green T’s support of local artists (all art displayed at the shop is for sale, and 100% of sales go to the artist), musicians and products (we’re talking honey, coffee beans, baked goods, veggies), and I just may have been converted to a Mission Hill regular. Let’s be honest: the presence of Longwood medical school students and doctors doesn’t hurt, either.

For a small space, Green T packs a punch. The food is made to order, the tea hails from a famous province in China, and mint leaves come from Matt’s backyard. Wanna talk local sourcing? The entire staff lives in Mission Hill, most of them mere blocks away. I was bowled over by the friendliness of their barista, Kristi, who was more than happy to pose for one of my awkwardly non-candid photos. As for me? This scout is resolutely going Green.
