Monti’s is a new quick service restaurant located in Lincoln Square specializing in Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks. As any Philly-native will tell you, a good cheesesteak is all about the roll, specifically the Amoroso Roll. For those Chicagoans not familiar, Amoroso is a 100 year old Bakery in Philly and its chewy crusty bread is what “makes” a cheesesteak. Monti’s ships these rolls in fresh three to four times a week. Putting a Chi-town spin on this Philly classic, they use fresh sliced Black Angus Rib-eye and melted Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese Sauce. The whole meal is complimented with fresh cut fries dusted with celery salt. If this doesn’t send you running to Monti’s, check out the rest of the menu which includes fun items like fried calamari with fried lemon wheels (yep, you read that right!), coconut chicken with a yuzu horseradish marmalade and fresh soups and salads. The best part is they are also a bar so you can enjoy a local craft beer with your meal!

You might expect a Philly cheesesteak joint to be a counter shop with Rocky posters on the wall, but Monti’s will be a pleasant surprise. It has a cozy atmosphere with an exposed brick wall, a stylish bar, black & white artwork and multiple seating options. Monti’s is a collaborative effort by Husband and Wife Team, Chef James Gottwald and Jennifer Monti, both from Philly so you know the place is legit!
