What with the Texas summer currently invading the Metroplex's personal space, it seems like everybody in Dallas has their own, patented, surefire way to beat the heat. Usually it involves something lame, like “staying hydrated” or “blasting the central AC, budget be damned, and never leaving the house.” Some people, however are much more clever than that; some people are taking heat-beating to the next level. Take, for example, the fine folks behind the fairly brand-spankin' new SNACK out in the funky wilds of Lower Greenville. Their prescription for Our Summer of Perpetual Sweatiness can be summed up in two words: Raw Bar. Laid out in icy splendor, a bevy of high-quality oysters, fresh ceviche, and various other oceanic residents are ready to soothe your charbroiled self into a state of relative comfort and calm. Throw in a few craft beers and/or a pitcher of mixologist-approved cocktails and you've got yourself an excellent place to both literally and figuratively chill out.

If slamming down bivalves isn't your thing, worry not. SNACK has a whole world of cuisine on offer. Inspired by street food from around the globe, the menu that Chef Jon Stevens has created will not let you down. Short Rib Tacos vie for your attention with Pork Shumai Dumplings and Kobe Beef Meatballs. And the flatbreads... they're already becoming neighborhood-famous. Topped with esoteric ingredients like Roasted White Corn & Clams, and Spicy Pork Sausage, Radicchio, & Goat Cheese, expect them to soon be famous everywhere else as well.
