Saddle up inside by the bar for a Pineapple Margarita or outside on any one of the three-level dining decks. We suggest climbing up to the third tier for a grand view of the city.Older siblings don’t have all the fun. Case in point, Rockwell, the hipper lounge-y restaurant and bar opened two and a half years ago adjacent to Los Feliz staple Vermont Kitchen + Bar. But first, here's some guidance on how to find Rockwell: either pass through Vermont and locate the narrow passageway toward the back right corner of the room, or step through the alley behind Vermont (near valet) and enter an indoor/outdoor space, which, quite obviously, centers around a Coral Tree. Rockwell was actually built around this tree and, in the winter, its green leaves are replaced with pink blossoms. Pretty rad, actually.

At Rockwell, small plates are mostly the name of the game. Ahi Tuna Tacos are always popular and pair nicely with the sweet and salty Watermelon and Feta Cheese Salad. A slew of flatbreads perfect for sharing grace the menu, or for a more substantial meal, the Grilled Wagyu Rib Eye Cap with fries and a light arugula salad does the trick just fine. Whatever we ate, we loved relaxing and enjoying this new favorite hidden spot.
