Hardwear prides itself on having that one seasonal item you've been lusting after in your Pinterest lookbook—and getting it right. It's easy to forget when you're getting cooed at by the lilting voice of a stylish boutique employee that if it doesn't fit in the store, it's not gonna fit at home. But at Hardwear on Larchmont, "We never lie to our customers," says Gabrielle Ronero, self-proclaimed madame of the store. "We'll figure out what works best for your body type together."
Named after a hardware store that claimed the real estate for decades, Hardwear prides itself on having that one seasonal item you've been lusting after in your Pinterest lookbookand getting it right. "Women say 'I can't wear neon because I'm over 30,' or, 'I can't wear fitted jeans because I have big curves,' or 'I've got the body of a 12-year-old boy and nothing shows off my figure," says Ronero. " The trick is finding the right balance." And if you can't find what you're looking for, that's okay, too. Ronero explains, "The goal isn't to get you to buy, buy, buy. The goal is to have you walk out the door feeling better than you did when you came in." She adds, "Fashion is a woman, and she's emotional, and we get that."
Hardwear's also gearing up for renovation, so make sure to check out its new digs right next door later this summer.
