Excellent customer service and a knockout contemporary American menu really makes Whitfield’s Restaurant and Bar stand out. There’s a lot of cool stuff going on in Nashville, but sometimes even us know-it-all Scoutmobsters have a hard time deciding what kind of fun we want to get into. You too? Well, lucky for you, Whitfield’s Restaurant and Bar has pretty much taken care of all the planning with weekly events and incredible dishes that will excite even the biggest couch potato.
Dewayne Johnson began his career at Whitfield’s when the restaurant was known as PJ’s 106 Club (it then changed to Belle Meade Brassiere before becoming what it is today). When the opportunity arose to take ownership in 2009, Johnson, who has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry, went for it. Unlike most restaurants where a general manager handles the day-to-day happenings, Johnson can be found at Whitfield’s almost every day, greeting guests and making sure things are running smoothly. It’s this type of customer service that, along with a knockout contemporary American menu (Chef Matthew Smith credits their concentration on simplicity, freshness, and quality of ingredients to the seasonally-changing menu’s success), really makes Whitfield’s Restaurant and Bar stand out among other Nashville restaurants.
