This well-edited boutique has us smitten for two reasons: 1) the smartly selected, organized vintage finds; and 2) the modern, of-the-now pieces from independent designers.Okay, guys. We’re just going to go ahead and get this off our chest: just because something is vintage does not mean it’s cute. Phew. There. We said it. That feels better. But really, how many times have you thought this very thing while trying to unearth the good stuff in a sea of polyester moo-moos and pleated acid wash jeans? Probably a lot. So when we came across Local Honey, a well-edited, vintage-mixed-with-new boutique on Belmont Boulevard, we were instantly smitten. And we have a feeling you will be, too.
Local Honey’s four-person team hand selects each piece that hits the store, eliminating anything that can’t be worn in a modern, of-the-now way. In addition to well-edited and well-preserved vintage, the store is extremely organized, so you can avoid all the sifting and get right down to business. But what we might love even more than the vintage (and we really love vintage) is the store’s commitment to independent Nashville designers. Tucked away behind the cash register in a separate area of the store, you’ll find clothing and accessory lines from up-and-coming Nashville designers, including Tuft, Tidwell and Perryman, Blooming Leopold and TRVLR, to name a few. Supporting local businesses always feels good. But supporting local businesses that support other local businesses? Well, that feels even better.
