When Thet H. Tint, owner of Nomzilla, moved to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University, his plan was to get a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. After reaching that goal, he went on to pursue a career in nursing. But soon after he accepted his first post-college nursing job, he came to the realization that working in the healthcare industry was not for him (he loved the aspect of caring for people but he didn’t so much love all of the paperwork and other challenges that came along with his new career). And so, he decided to take a chance and explore his longtime interest in the sushi business, and just 10 months after quitting his nursing job, Nomzilla opened for business. Selfishly, we’re really glad he changed his mind about the whole nursing thing 'cause Nomzilla is seriously good.

Located in Edgehill Village, Nomzilla does sushi a little differently. While there are several rolls available on the menu (we love the Fruit-Ge-Table Roll), the restaurant also offers the option to completely create your own (hear that, picky eaters?). Or, if you’d prefer, you can skip the sushi rolls altogether and go with a rice bowl. But come on! Live a little! We dare you to order Nomzilla’s Scorpion Roll, which is made with the hottest pepper known to man. In fact, it’s so incredibly spicy that no one’s ever managed to finish the entire thing.
