Atmalogy

50% off Atmalogy
It’s the opposite of Starbucks, with funky folk art hanging on the walls and a medley of scents wafting through the air—cinnamon, coffee beans, toasted bread and melted chocolate among them. Yup, we've found the coffeehouse of our dreams.
With plenty of space to spread out, Atmalogy is not your average hole-in-the-wall coffee shop. But the multi-purpose hotspot does a lot more than brew up hot mugs of locally roasted java. For starters, owner Heather Riney designed the place to look like the homey, quirky coffeehouses she came across while backpacking through Europe and Southeast Asia. It’s the opposite of Starbucks, with funky folk art hanging on the walls and a medley of scents wafting through the air—cinnamon, coffee beans, toasted bread and melted chocolate among them. Customers have been known to make a beeline for the "pillow room,” an India-inspired nook with plenty of floor seating and a good amount of fluffy pillows. And while the rest of the rooms have ol’ fashioned chairs instead, everything’s laid out in a way that encourages talking and connecting, not just hiding behind laptops. If someone really wants to get down to business, they can book one of Atmalogy’s private meeting spaces, which are located throughout the store.

Oh! Did we mention the food? In addition to Atmalogy’s homemade drinks, which are made with healthy ingredients like coconut palm sugar and cacao powder (a healthy alternative to cocoa), the store also offers breakfast bowls, sandwich plates, salads and baked goods. The Night Rider, for example, a hot-pressed turkey wrap filled with spinach and homemade carrot spread, tastes just like Thanksgiving, and the house-made hummus plate, served with veggies and jalapeno flax crackers, packs a bit of heat. If you’re not up for a full meal, no sweat: just skip lunch and go straight to dessert. We recommend the Atma Balls, bite-sized orbs of cookie-doughy deliciousness, made with a combo of hand-rolled oats, dates, almond butter, nuts and organic honey. Heather tells us that they’re healthy, and we believe her...although to be honest, we’d keep chowin' down on 'em even if they weren’t.
