Yoga + Coffee Social
Barista Parlor, 519B Gallatin Ave.
Every Thursday morning, Barista Parlor hosts a free yoga class in the outside courtyard. This is hot yoga, so be prepared to sweat your face off in the summer morning sun. (If that doesn't sound appealing, we don't know what does.) It’s nothing a little iced coffee can’t take care of, though.

Grand Fiddler Championship
Country Music Hall of Fame, 222 5th Ave. S.
If you didn’t score tickets for this week’s football game between Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, we’ve got a different sort of match-up for you. Watch the country’s best fiddlers duke it out at this yearly competition, and swing by the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night to see the winner perform. Bonus: the championship is free. We’ll dance to that.

Nashville Zoo, 3777 Nolensville Pike
Whenever we go camping, we usually pitch our tent away from wild animals. But this kid-friendly slumber party gives us a chance to break the rules, without getting in massive trouble. Bring a tent, a few sleeping bags and your children. The zoo will provide the rest (get it? sleeping!), including a marshmallow roast at night and a full breakfast in the morning.

Garfunkel and Oates
Zanies Comedy Night Club, 2025 8th Ave. S.
Move over, Tenacious D—there’s a new guitar-comedy duo in town. Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci will be playing two shows on Sunday night, crooning their way through folk-pop tunes with lewd (and hilarious) lyrics.
