How To Age New Lumber

Handy Dandy Production Studio, 100 Taylor St., Ste. 18A

We Nashvillians have fully-embraced the rustic, refurbished “old barn” aesthetic these days (if only you could see our secret Pinterest boards), but unfortunately – refurbs don’t come cheap, and often fall outside the limits of our bank accounts and wallets. Luckily, this DIY class will teach wannabe carpenters how to take cheap, easy-to-find lumber and turn it into something antique-looking. Giddyup!

Ben Folds’ Piano Concerto

Schermerhorn Symphony Center, 1 Symphony Pl.

Although Ben Folds probably won’t be playing his Dr. Dre cover at this black-tie event – he will be premiering his brand new piano concerto with a little help from the Grammy-winning Nashville Symphony. We’re pumped to see Nashville’s own piano man go classical for an evening (whilst also doling out free high-fives to those who request Song for the Dumped).

St. Pats Pub Crawl

Tin Roof, 1516 Demonbreun St.

We’ve finally made it to the end of the rainbow – it’s St. Patrick’s weekend. Why settle for one bar when you can crawl your way between Tin Roof, Two Bits, Dawg House and Dan McGuiness? Tickets are $20, and they include complimentary drinks, admission into all four watering holes and a $20 Lyft voucher for your tipsy ride home. (Sounds like a lucky pot o’ gold to us.)

Free Backstage Tours of the Grand Ole Opry House

Grand Ole Opry, 2804 Opryland Dr.

On most days, a behind-the-scenes tour at the Grand Ole Opry costs $20. But this weekend – to celebrate the Opry’s 40th anniversary – they’re waiving the fee and inviting everyone backstage for a free, self-guided tour. (We’re planning to line-dance our way around.)
