Nashville Lifestyles' 9th Annual Bartender Bash

Loews Vanderbilt Hotel, 2100 West End Ave.

Who's the best bartender in town? Who whips up the tastiest margarita? How about the most creative cocktail? This annual event pits 15 local bartenders against one another, with the audience — hey, that’s us! — serving as the judging panel. And since we take this whole judging thing really seriously, we’re going to do our due diligence and all 15 drinks, ok. (For the sake of an informed opinion, we promise!)

Music City Festival & BBQ Championship

Tennessee State Fairgrounds, 500 Wedgewood Ave.

With 100 different BBQ teams battling each other for the "Grand Ol' Porker Award," this two-day food fest is worth a visit for the delicious smells alone. Add live music and booze to the mix, and we’ve got a tunes 'n' tastes event that's worth setting aside all other weekend plans. (We plan to properly pig out.)

Letterpress Basics: Greeting Card Workshop

Sawtooth Printhouse, 2200 McGavock Pike

Letterpress printmaking might as well be the official state craft of Tennessee. We plan to channel our inner Hatch Show skills at this day-long class, taught by the fine folks of Sawtooth Printhouse. Once we’ve learned the basics of the biz, and we’ll be sent home with 25 personalized greeting cards, letterpressed by none other than ourselves. (Pretty fancy, huh?)
