This beloved haven of UK cuisine offers humor and haddock in equal measure; the attitude is laid back and the entrees are fresh, fried, and flawless in flavor and texture. On your first visit, the only way to proceed is fish & chips and a plate of scotch eggs, but as soon as you return, it's worth diving a little deeper and sampling the shepherds pies, the meaty mac & cheeses. Whatever your order, though, make sure the meal ends with something from the "Fried Chocolate" list. Choose from Mars bars or Twix sticks, Twinkies or peanut butter cups. They may be bad for the heart, but trust me. They're incredible for the soul.
