Step inside the comfortably modern interior of Tommy Lasagna to the smell of a hearty, satisfying meal that will leave you craving for more..If you’re extremely lucky, you’ve already discovered the homemade wonders that await you inside Tommy Lasagna. If you haven’t, we’re here to help. Step inside the comfortably modern Union Square interior to the smell of a hearty, satisfying meal that will leave you craving for more. Founder Tommy Mosera believes in going the extra mile to make sure even the most basic dishes make your mouth water. All pastas and sauces are made to savory perfection in-house. (No short cuts here!) You’ll want to get things started with a bruschetta platter for an assortment of the crunchy delights, or sample an order of the rice balls (rice rolled together with parmesan, ricotta and mozzarella and lightly fried.)
The restaurant's namesake is a classic Northern Italian recipe: homemade pasta sheets, a rich bolognese sauce, creamy bechamel and gooey mozzarella. It’s all made fresh and popped in the oven right when you order it. If you’d like to try something different, go for one of the spot’s original recipes, the Mezzaluna (“half-moon”) Pasta. The carefully handmade Spinach Ravioli are filled with smoked mozzarella, smooth ricotta and tangy asparagus, and topped with the kick of the spicy cherry tomato sauce. In addition to the perfect pastas, Tommy also offers his delicious “Crispy Chicken” (half an organic chicken de-boned and pan-seared, then served over a bed of pancetta and vegetable risotto and topped with truffle oil). If you have some room left, entertain your sweet tooth with some of the dessert crepes drizzled in a blueberry and strawberry sauce flamed in Solerno blood-orange liqueur. Now, you’re the lucky one.
