The Parkside Lounge is where soulful days and nights abound. Hail a Bloody Mary and drink up.New York knows pizza. New York knows plays. But it definitely needs a bit of help in the Bloody Mary department. Chris Lee, here by way of New Orleans, began work at The Parkside Lounge right after the historic 2003 blackout. While chillin’ with the occasional poltergeist during shifts (don’t be scurred, but the 104-year-old place is haunted), Lee started spilling his Bloody Mary recipe into the drinks of chosen patrons. After taking possession of the bar as owner three years ago, he alone now makes the secret Bloody Mary sauce that’s potent enough to raise the dead. Only he knows the spectral construct of the smoky Cajun elixir that coats many a stomach during The Parkside’s Liquid Brunches (or whenever one feels like dousing any trace of straight-laced sobriety). The underworldly bar has a nightly club in back that has seen performances by Lady Gaga and The Ramones. If you’re dealing with any ghostly attachment issues, Leslie, the resident witch on payroll, is available to provide relief. The Parkside worships Saints of the football persuasion, so fans have a welcome haunt this season. Parkside Lounge is where soulful days and nights abound. Hail a Bloody Mary and drink up.
