We've never tasted Octopus Carpaccio that was so delicately prepared and delicious. Or ever, for that matter.Dining al fresco is one of those small joys in life. Sadly, at least in New York, it's one of those joys that has a definite lifespan between sweltering summers and blistering cold winters. Unless of course you create a dining room that resembles a small Italian square, bathed in sunlight from a ceiling that is one giant skylight. Welcome to La Piazzetta ('small square' in Italian), a small Italian restaurant in Williamsburg that, like Aladdin's magic carpet, quite effectively transports you to a whole new world.
La Piazzetta is helmed by a chef who has earned his stripes in marquee kitchens like Le Cirque and the Rainbow Room. Pull up to one of their brightly (and naturally) lit tables and take a gander at their seasonally changing menu full of traditional Italian dishes with an elegant, modern twist. We strongly recommend he Gnocchi Piazzetta stuffed with prosciutto, or the thinly sliced Octopus Carpaccio. Warning: Walking back out onto the streets of Brooklyn after your meal will be quite the adjustment.
