We're definitely on board with Bistronomy, the trend of combining basic bistro decor with quality cuisine, and we're definitely on board with Sullivan Bistro. We love a good word combination almost as much as we love a nice gourmet burger. So we're definitely on board with Bistronomy, the trend of combining basic bistro decor with quality cuisine, and we're definitely on board with Sullivan Bistro. This cute, 38-seat restaurant on a quiet street in the heart of NYU country has been producing quality food for the past five years. A born-and-raised New Yorker and graduate of the French Culinary School, the chef/owner now spends most of his time out on the floor. All ingredients are fresh and prepared that day, highlighted by the fact that they don't have a freezer (their kitchen is a just a touch too small). So you know that when you order the Roasted Atlantic Salmon with sauteed spinach and basil mash potatoes, or the creamy Roasted Shrimp Risotto with wild porcini mushrooms, you're getting the freshest stuff around.
You'll be charmed by the soft yellow walls and plush velvet booths, the intimacy of the space and the fact that on any given night you could be seated next to Whoopie Goldberg, Vince Vaughn or Anderson Cooper, all of whom are regulars. Ask your server nicely (and discreetly) and they might just tell you where Anna Wintour lives.
