Yet, that's exactly what they've done at this Italian-Latin-American Brick Oven restaurant sitting conveniently at on the north side of McCarren Park. Named for the element on the Periodic Table, this copper hued joint is serving up a little bit of something for everyone.
The giant wood-burning oven that sits at the very front of the dining room churns out some of the freshest pizzas in the 'hood, including The Grinch (baby Brussels sprout leaves, mozzarella cheese, pecorino, bacon and garlic), the Italian Stallion (Pepperoni, spicy sopressata, sweet & hot sausage, ham, mozzarella) or the Cu Siganture (Pepperoni, sweet sausage, mushrooms, red onions, black olives, sweet and hot peppers, mozzarella). They also serve up a mean Brick Oven Quessadilla with chicken, steak or shrimp, and an Arepa made with sweet corn cake that is mouth watering. You can stay on the healthy side with their fantastic Quinoa Salad with tomato, cucumber, red onion, mango basil vinnegrette. Cu Copper is a great spot for when you can't make up your mind, or a trying to please a big group after a day of sitting in the park discussing cloud formations.
