Padre Figlio

50% off Padre Figlio
Tucked on a quiet street near the U.N., this Italian steakhouse is keeping the old school notion of customer service alive while plating up the best, if not most exotic, steaks around. Rack of Venison anyone?
If you're looking to have a celeb sighting with your entree, there are a slew of restaurants around town that'll make that happen. But for sightings of the international political sort, your choices are a bit slimmer. One sure bet, however, is Padre Figlio, set on a quiet corner of Midtown East and conveniently located near the United Nations. In the 'hood since 2008, the heritage behind the restaurant spans decades. The dining room and its guests are kept under the watchful yet welcoming eye of owner Antonio, who cut his teeth in some of the best old-school steak-houses in the city, and keeps that old school tradition of service alive and well here.

And while this place is technically an Italian Steakhouse, it's also had the distinction of being voted among among the Top 10 seafood joints in the city, as well. But that's not surprising since the chefs source all of their ingredients from only the best purveyors, and make everything they possibly can in-house. Don't feel like steak or lobster? Go for the rack of New Zealand Venison with green peppercorn and cognac, or the Canadian Boar in a limoncello reduction. Whatever it is you're looking for, Antonio is confident in what you'll be served. "You can't come here and have a bad meal" he told us.
