Private karaoke rooms. Vintage music decor. Liquid courage. Need we say more? Time to start warming up those vocal cords, kid.Karaoke is always a festive occasion. After all, what’s better than singing your heart out in a private room, with people who like you enough to not laugh at your rendition of ‘90s Mariah Carey? (Which sounds great, by the way.) And at Radio Star Karaoke, the decor and the friendly staff are ready for the party. From the moment we walked into this Korea Town joint, we felt transported through music's history. The groovy neon lights drew us inside, as we investigated the vintage signs and radios lining the walls.
The themed private rooms offer up different styles depending on what suits your ears and eyeballs. And with everything from an Elvis room to a rock ‘n roll room, we were certain to find something that would suit us. And true, it wasn't long before the unique album covers and memorabilia had us serenading our friends with everything from “Love Me Tender” to “Paint It Black.” (Pro-tip: skip the thick catalog and download the Radio Star iPhone app to browse through all of the songs and make a list potential hits.) And while nailing that impression of the King, don’t forget to order some cocktails and snacks to refuel. Everyone’s voice improves after a martini and some Buffalo wings, right? Encore!
