Don't let the whimsical name fool ya, this spot is all about serious food. We're talking creative takes on traditional sushi rolls. And, of course, wasabi.According to the good folks makin' the dictionaries, a lobby is an area at the front of a building that beckons visitors toward the other rooms beyond its walls. And over at the aptly named Wasabi Lobby, we’re ready to be led to wherever those tempting smells are coming from. Kickstart the mission with an order of the Tuna Wasabi Dumplings. Mashed avocado meets wasabi, tobiko, crunchy tempura bits and honey wasabi mayo, before getting wrapped up in a tasty cocoon of fresh tuna. It’s a spicy, savory and totally sweet beginning to the whole wasabi journey. Next, make a pit stop at the Dragon Roll for a classic favorite. This one is a roaring mouthful of broiled eel and cucumber, topped with thinly sliced avocado and bright orange masago (a.k.a. capelin roe).
Now be sure to reserve some stomach-space for the signature rolls. It’d be a rookie mistake to miss these on the grand wasabi quest. This inventive assortment comes with special sauces and fun combinations only found at the Wasabi Lobby. The Spicy Blue Crab Roll comes with eel and avocado topped with spicy blue crab, tobiko, enoki mushrooms and the chef’s special sauce. And the Honey Sandwich is no sandwich, friends. It’s a zesty creation packed with spicy tuna, spicy salmon, avocado, tamago, crab, tobiko and crunchy tempura pieces, all served up with spicy wasabi mayo and eel sauce. Yessir, get ready to settle in and follow this menu toward wasabi-dom. (And once we’re there, we’ll definitely reward ourselves with some of that mochi ice cream.)
