On a quiet tree-lined block of Cobble Hill, this sugary wonderland holds practically any sweet and treat our inner-children can wrap their heads around. In addition to dino and snake gummies, the shop also showcases candies from local sweet-tooth-smiths.It's been a few years since we played Candyland like pros, makin’ our way from the Peppermint Forest to Candy Castle with admirable speed and fortitude. But if there were ever a place to experience our childhood board-game dreams, it would be the Sugar Shop. On a quiet tree-lined block of Cobble Hill, this sugary wonderland holds practically any sweet and treat our inner-children can wrap their heads around. With everything from nostalgic favorites like Zagnut bars and Mallo Cups to modern sweets like gummy dinos and Fun Dip packets, there’s somethin’ here for everybody. The shop also showcases candies from local sweet-tooth-smiths, like Liddabit Sweets, Mast Brothers and Betsy’s Buns.
For the ambitious candy eaters among us, we’d recommend having a go at one of the two-foot-long gummy snakes. (Note: friends always seem happy to be enlisted in this challenge.) And for the especially curious sugar-lovers, have a taste of Liddabit’s luxurious dark-chocolate covered honeycomb. If anyone needs us? Why, we’ll be polishing off a Whirly Pop and coasting along on the sugar high. We’d say Queen Frostine would be proud.
