CAMAJE French-American Bistro

50% off CAMAJE French-American Bistro
This is a spot where one can sit for a spell on the couch in the front with a nice glass of red or white before relaxing and people-watching while browsing through Chef Abby’s menu of seasonal favorites.
Nestled into a quiet block of Greenwich Village, Camaje is the type of place where we feel instantly at ease after a long, stressful day in the city. Chef and owner Abby Hitchcock, along with her flavorful French-American fare, is a welcome relief amid the noise and traffic. She beckons diners inside the cafe like an old friend guiding us back home through a crowded party. This is a spot where one can sit for a spell on the couch in the front with a nice glass of red or white before relaxing and people-watching while browsing through Chef Abby’s menu of seasonal favorites. She emphasizes cooking with everything fresh, locally sourced and organic for as many of her ingredients as possible.

The chopped salad is a breath (or plate, rather) of fresh air, with local tomatoes, radishes, celery, avocado, chickpeas and market greens. The crepes come savory or sweet depending on what strikes your fancy. And there are plenty of fixin’s to choose from, too, with everything from gooey Nutella and caramelized bananas to salty ham and soft goat cheese. Chef Abby also adjusts her menu’s make-up based on what’s lookin’ good at the farmers market around the corner. Fresh purple cauliflower with our local bluefish? Yes ma’am, we’ll gladly take it.
