Salaam Bombay has been cooking in the heart of TriBeCa for the past two decades, making for a time-honored menu that’s steeped in high quality spices. Whether it’s for a quick lunch, a relaxing dinner or a huge celebration, Salaam Bombay delivers the goods in a host of regional flavors. Traditional appetizers like the Samosa Chaat start the meal with a crunchy bite. The crispy potato and pea patties get an appetite-whetting boost from savory chickpeas and a tangy tamarind mint sauce.
Next up, entrees range from seafood specialties like the Prawns Baghare and Lobster Masala to rich plates of Lamb Chop Lababdar and Afghani Chicken Masala. Each arrives as colorful, spice-fueled preparations from the country’s distinct regions. Our favorite? The Masala Dosa. Unlike any we’ve had before, it’s a long, delicate rice crepe shaped like a tube and filled with zesty onion, potato and peas. Order it plain, filled with shrimp, packed with paneer or spiced up with chutney. No matter the dosa, kick back and enjoy it any time of day before popping back out onto Greenwich.
