Since opening up in the East Village a few years ago, Purple Ginger has given the neighborhood's Thai scene a welcome boost. After two decades of experience with classic thai cuisine, their chef decided to get a bit more creative and distinct with the menu at Purple Ginger – plates here tend to embody the joint’s colorful name in flavor and style. Staples like spicy noodles and vibrant curries anchor the menu, paving the way for a range of inventive grilled entrees and vegetarian dishes. Purple Potato Spring Rolls and Crystal Shrimp Dumplings lead to Pan-Fried Striped Bass and Purple Ginger Tofu. The kitchen's commitment to hyper-fresh fruit, veggies and protein is what ties it all together.
