In Italian the word 'circolo' is used colloquially to refer to a club where locals gather to relax, catch up, pour a glass of vino and snag a bite to eat. At Circolo 45, we're obliged to do just that.
In Italian the word 'circolo' is used colloquially to refer to a club where locals gather to relax, catch up, pour a glass of vino and snag a bite to eat. At Circolo 45, we're obliged to do just that. Located on a cobblestone block of Bond Street, this NoHo ristorante offers a taste of traditional Florentine cuisine, made with the modern touches of Executive Chef Daniele Sicuranza. Growing up in Italy, Daniele learned his craft by lending a hand in his grandmother’s kitchen, simmering decades old family recipes. After years of owning restaurants around Milan, Daniele packed up his knives and set up shop at Circolo 45 this fall.

Now, New York is reaping the benefits of his firsthand experience, with a charcuterie bar, high quality seafood, fresh pasta, handmade bread and a wealth of picturesque entrees. Appetizers like the 45 Octopus and Daniele’s Cod Fish are our favorite way to dig in. The grilled octopus is a tangy treat with lemon juice and tomato confit, and Daniele’s Cod Fish is a savory Venetian mix of taggiasche olive, homemade mayonnaise, anchovies, capers and gherkin. Back in the kitchen, Daniele and his team make the pasta by hand every day, and the Cappellacci di Patate is a prime example of the freshness. These homemade pasta parcels are filled with potato, then coated in a thick bolognese ragu and grated parmigiano cheese. Just don’t get too full before slicing into the Galletto Intero Cotto Al Forno, a whole roasted free-range chicken with creamy mashed potatoes and crispy vegetables. The wine list tops 130 bottles and leans heavily Italian, so there’s plenty to pair with each dish while kicking back at the circolo.
