All of Tommy Lasagna's pastas and sauces made to savory perfection-in house. That's right, no short-cuts here, folks. It's mouth-watering, cheesy and well-sauced delights as far as the eye can see. Those of us who are extremely lucky have long-since discovered the homemade wonders that await us inside Tommy Lasagna. For those who haven’t, we’re here to help. Step inside the comfortably modern Union Square interior to the smell of a hearty, satisfying meal that always leaves us craving for more. Founder Tommy Mosera believes in going the extra mile to make sure even the most basic dishes are mouth-watering. All pastas and sauces are made to savory perfection in-house. (No short cuts here!) Get things started with a bruschetta platter for an assortment of crunchy delights, or sample an order of the rice balls (rice rolled together with parmesan, ricotta and mozzarella and lightly fried.)
The restaurant's namesake is a classic Northern Italian recipe: homemade pasta sheets, a rich bolognese sauce, creamy bechamel and gooey mozzarella. It’s all made fresh and popped in the oven right fresh per order. For those looking to try something different, we suggest one of the spot’s original recipes, the Mezzaluna (“half-moon”) Pasta. The carefully handmade Spinach Ravioli are filled with smoked mozzarella, smooth ricotta and tangy asparagus, and topped with the kick of the spicy cherry tomato sauce. In addition to the perfect pastas, Tommy also offers his delicious “Crispy Chicken” (half an organic chicken de-boned and pan-seared, then served over a bed of pancetta and vegetable risotto and topped with truffle oil). Still have some room left? We suggest entertaining sweet-tooths with some of the dessert crepes drizzled in a blueberry and strawberry sauce flamed in Solerno blood-orange liqueur. Now we're all the lucky ones.
