Cucina di Pesce

50% off Cucina di Pesce
While the fish is understandably at the forefront at this temple of seafood, there are so many other delights to discover. Try the fusili with sun-dried tomatoes before deep-diving into the mouth-watering Frutti di Mare.
If you assume from the name (or the fish on the sign) that Cucina di Pesce is a temple of seafood, you're not wrong, but you still need the rest of the story. There are whole additional leagues of Mediterranean flavor to be had in these cozy, fire-lit dining rooms, including pumpkin ravioli and fusili done up in gorgonzola and cream. They're all fittingly delicious companions for the restaurant's top-notch frutti di mare, which has been a neighborhood favorites since Cucina di Pesce took up residence in the early part of last century. (The spot was a notorious mafia hangout/casino back in the '20s and '30s.) Here, you'll get sea bass, salmon and stuffed brook trout prepared elegantly, in a manner that lets the flavor of the fish itself stay center stage. The seafood skewers get a beautiful boost from sweet peppers and red onion, but the take-away is still the freshness and succulence (that's right, we broke out the word succulence) of the calamari, shrimp and scallops on the stick.
