Do you have plans to do something planet-friendly for Earth Day? Did you know that "drinking somewhere outdoors" doesn't really count? (We asked, trust us. It apparently didn't make the cut. Neither did "drinking from recyclable containers.") Well, after you plant a tree or go pick up trash on the beach this Saturday, make sure you save some space in the evening for a special (free) screening from Rooftop Films.
Though their summer season doesn't kick off until Friday, May 11, the veteran outdoor film festival will be hosting an Earth Day screening of the BBC's Planet Earth. They'll unspool the first episode, in its entirety, under the stars at Solar One, a solar-powered arts, energy, and education center that stretches along the East River. The first 250 folks will receive a free ticket good for any of Rooftop Films screenings this summer (including the opening night party!).
