The 2013 West Indian American Carnival Parade

Begins at Eastern Parkway & Schenectady Avenue, Ends at Flatbush Avenue Ext. by Prospect Park, Brooklyn

Come out to see the beautiful costumes and floats, and stay for the tasty homemade food that's easy to spot, all through the carnival. Heck, join in on dancing to the music, too. We’ve been known to spend the day stuffing ourselves with spicy jerk pork and hot beef patties before shaking it all out during a dance party of sorts. Very professionally, of course.

The Last Day at Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pop-up Pool

Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 2, Brooklyn

Yep, it’s here guys... no, please don’t make us say it. All right, it’s...the last day to take a dip in Brooklyn Bridge Park’s pop-up pool. Let’s all mask our sadness with a swim (and after 6 p.m. with sangria, craft beer, wine, trivia and bocce ball). Wristbands for the pool are distributed every half hour and grant you 45-minutes of splashin’ around by the skyline. Anyone up for a beach trip in October?

Punderdome 3000: The Ultimate Pun Competition

Littlefield, 622 DeGraw Street, Brooklyn

This is going to be so much pun, guys. (See what we did there?) A Rodney Dangerfield impersonator and his daughter bring you this glorious night of Punderdome 3000. Everyone is welcome to join the audience, but you can also get there early to compete: the first 18 individuals/duos to sign up first get to go head-to-head. A human clap-o-meter will determine who is punniest, and prizes are said to include “great big kitchen appliances.” Like robots? We don't know. Tickets are $7 at the door, and $6 in advance. The doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the punning starts at 8 p.m.
