Home Alone at Bryant Park
The Southwest Porch, Bryant Park, Manhattan
As kids, there’s no way we would’ve had the stones to thwart a couple of burglars with homemade boobie traps (especially when one of them is Joe Pesci). This weekend offers a chance to relive Kevin McAllister’s inspired Rube Goldberg machines around a fire pit at Bryant Park — and pretend that we would’ve been brave enough to lead a furious Harry and Marv down the zip-line to the treehouse. Slap on some aftershave Kevin-style, then come enjoy an entrée and sip on a beer or glass of wine during the movie.

But sifting through vinyl whilst sipping a $3 beer? Well that just can't be beat. Newcomer Park Slope bar Breuckelen Colony brings us this Holiday Record Bazaar with DJs spinning all day, 3 rooms of vinyl to explore, a listening station and – best of all – free admission.

Blink: Making Music with Bicycle Bells
Grand Army Plaza, Prospect Park, Brooklyn
Even if you don’t play an instrument, there is still music to be made this weekend. Composer Merche Blasco is doing just that, using the humble bicycle bell. Cyclists will ride through Prospect Park, following signals from the lead rider’s helmet that will cue each person when to ring their bell. Hop on your bike and join in for free. Bicycle bells will be distributed beforehand, when the ride meets at Grand Army Plaza, and everyone is welcome to follow along with the score.
