Free Skeeball and Hotdogs
Full Circle Bar, 318 Grand Street, Brooklyn
Friday and Saturday claim most of the late-night glory when it comes to getting the party started, but Thursday kicks things off to a good start. It’s every week’s beacon of hope lighting our way toward the weekend. We’ll be celebrating this fact accordingly with free games of skeeball and hotdogs. Accompany both with a round of brews and keep on tryin’ for that 100-point slot. Admission is free. The skeeball skills you’ll acquire? Priceless.

The 4th Annual American Human Beatbox Festival
The Club at La MaMa, 74A East 4th Street, Manhattan
Humans can do some pretty amazing things: shooting rockets into outer space, inventing smartphones that can scour the internet at the tap of a finger. But one of the coolest things? Human beatboxing, obviously. This weekend, the 4th Annual American Human Beatbox Festival challenges folks with some of the most intense vocal cords in the country to compete in open mic, beat rhyme battles and vocal wars. Performances will include special appearances by 2013 Beatrhyme Battle and Vocal Wars Winners Kaila Mullady, Baba Israel and Yako 440. Admission is $15.

Chaos Cooking: An Ode to Ireland
Court Street Collective, 371 Court Street, Brooklyn
Chaos Cooking sounds like something that routinely happens in our kitchen at home, but they’re taking it to a whole new level at Court Street Collective. This Sunday, they’ll whip up a collaborative feast of Irish eats just in time for St. Patrick’s Day. Each guest purchases a ticket for $19 (which includes free pints from O’Haras) and brings ingredients to make one dish, with enough servings for everyone to have at least a small taste. According to the masterminds behind the event, “We cook together, we eat together, it's a mess, and it's beautiful.” We’ll raise a brew to that. Slàinte!
