In 1937 the Alameda Kono All-Stars boarded the Chichibu Maru in San Francisco bound for Japan. This all-star team of semi-pro Nisei players from Central and Northern California was financed and managed by Harry Kono from Alameda, and coached by Kenichi Zenimura, who for over four decades in baseball made a huge impact on the lives of thousands of players. On their final goodwill tour to Japan, Korea, and Manchuria they produced a 41-20-1 winning record. Four players from the Kono-All Stars team stayed behind to play professional baseball overseas.Super soft 100% cotton. Bella + Canvas classic fit unisex tee. Machine Washable.
