The sartorially savvy gals at Modo Boutique just have an appreciation for designer clothes—and a soft spot in their hearts for reclaimed fashion. How did East Burnside’s Modo Boutique know that we were dreaming of a shop that sold of-the-moment clothes for based-in-economic-reality prices? Maybe proprietresses Allison Fordham and Myla Crowell have ESP. Or maybe these sartorially savvy gals just have an appreciation for designer clothes—and a soft spot in their hearts for reclaimed fashion (which just happens to be a bit easier on the purse).
Modo Boutique is one of the few consignment stores that specializes selling online, receiving consignors not only locally but from around the world, making it’s inventory unique and full of fresh finds! For example, the day we were there we spied the following (try not to drool): Manolo Blahnik heels, an Opening Ceremony dress, Frye boots, a top by Velvet and a plethora of Mike & Chris hoodies. Love raiding the sale rack at Anthropologie? Skip it: Modo gets tons of Anthro. Feeling Summer? Right now, you’ll find tops in every color of the rainbow, flirty dresses and an awesome collection of locally made jewelry. Our favorite part about Modo, though, is not just the amazing brands and adorable picks; it’s that everything in the store gets cycled through a four-month sale process. So if you fell in love with a pair of Fryes that were beyond the reach of your wallet, come back on the first of the month; if they’re not gone, they’re marked down. Score one for the piggy bank—and score a bunch for your new (and previously loved) summer wardrobe.
