Basso's Restaurant

50% off Basso's Restaurant
What sets Basso’s apart from other comfy restos is that though the vibe is casual, the food and service is still top-notch.
The first time I walked into Basso’s, it felt like I’d stumbled into the Cheer’s bar. Even though everybody didn’t know my name, I settled right in and made a mental note to bring out-of-towners here for a relaxing, memorable meal. It’s the quintessential, family owned and operated, Italian eatery, with huge portions, and tables of lively diners yelling back to the chef, “This is amazing, Chef!” What sets Basso’s apart from other comfy restos is that though the vibe is casual, the food and service is still top-notch. The owner's daughters, Shauna and Laura, and a selection of their cousins, and close friends, are thoroughly attentive, know your name and order, and have your drink waiting for you at your table before you sit down. The food is always fresh, with a whole page of new specials added to the menu daily. Though Basso’s is packed with regulars who have watched Shauna and her cousins grow up, there’s a welcome mat for anyone who wants to get suitably stuffed with a new faux family for the night. The Bassos have been serving up meatballs the size of a gorilla’s fist since ’89 when it was previously Noe's Bar & Grill. In 2007, the Basso's decided to bring the family restaurant back, and are four generations of not just native SFers, but native Noe Valley...ites? They know their neighbors so well that the bars along 24th St. will hand you a Basso’s menu, call in your order, and soon a Basso relative will show up on a three-wheeled bike with your order in hand. See, Basso’s even delivers their family hospitality.
