We're told that Raven is where Edgar Allen Poe and Humphrey Bogart bridged the ages for a friendly drink together … if that bar was located in 1920's Shanghai. Lucky for you, this new noir bar is conveniently located on the Folsom strip, no international or time travel required. This atmospheric den of cocktails and classic themes has three bars and two DJ booths, including a spacious upstairs with dance floor and fancy schmancy boogie lights. Some of you may remember this place as The Up & Down Club, and they know how to party: Raven's perfect for private events and birthday celebrations (contact info@ravenbarsf.com to reserve tables or rooms), happy hours (4pm to 7pm), and weekly events (check out Wobble Wednesdays and open turntable jam Beat Repeat on Thursdays). There's even a cool little smoking patio on the side in case you need a break.

Raven's space is great, but their cocktails are even better. With a menu designed by SF Mixology, Raven has a taste all its own (think fresh, spicy, and unique flavors). We highly recommend Max's Herbal Remedy, which cures what ails you with bison grass vodka, St. Germaine, organic apple juice, lime and muddled basil. Or try the Switchblade, with Tres Agaves Blanco, jalapeno cilantro honey syrup, grapefruit and lime juice, and a splash of bitter for good measure.
