So, where are we all headed for Spring Break? Cabo? Costa? Hawaii?!! We could use some SPFs and drinks on the beach right now. Oh, who are we kidding? We don’t have time to leave the city, maybe we’ll just Caltrain down to San Jose for a few hours, but you can be sure we’ll be back for this:
WE DON’T WANT TO MISS:
THE COMMON OPENING PARTY AT 383 VALENCIA
Thursday, March 10, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Common (pictured) is making a move from Mission St. to the Mission and this Thursday is the celebration for the new space. Bevvies and snacks from artisanal experts will be on hand (and then in your mouth) to help keep your energy up while you shop ‘til you drop.
ALSO WORTH CHECKING OUT:
FAT TUESDAY IN THE FILLMORE DISTRICT
Tuesday, March 8, 5 p.m.
Although not nearly the same scale as the real Mardi Gras, the Fillmore will host a parade, live jazz music and more in the Fillmore Center Plaza. Restaurants are kicking in to help you get your Fat Tuesday on by offering music, food and drink specials. And remember, at midnight it becomes Ash Wednesday, and then you gotta go back to watching your P’s and Q’s.
HOW-TO BUILD YOUR OWN BIKE AT BAZAAR CAFE
Wednesday, March 9, 7 p.m.
We’re going to guess this takes a little more work than building a cake from scratch. Peter Verdone, who’s designed bikes and skateboards, builds bike frames from raw materials. He’ll take you from concept to construction in this mini lesson.
