You know what’s a hundred times better than awards season? Festival season, and here in SF, it’s quickly approaching. White pop-up tents and closed off streets signify the start of the warm weather season and the carefree, let’s spend every second we can outside attitude. Last week we asked you:
WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE SPRING OR SUMMER FESTIVAL?
OUR SCOUT SAYS:
Although it may not be a bonafide festival, San Franciscans have found a way to turn Bay to Breakers into an all out rager. Like most of the city, I’ve never actually participated in the race part, but man have I donned a costume or two. No telling what this year’s festivities will look like what with rumored “strict crackdowns” in place, but it won’t keep me from starting the day with a 6 a.m. bloody Mary.
“North Beach Festival and any SFGiants day games, especially when SF heats up! Oh wee, can't wait for spring/summer!”
“My birthday. The way I celebrate, it should be a city recognized festival.”
– Andrew Klempton
“The Sweet Shop! 3/27/11 Able and Baker studios from 1 pm to 8 pm! Shopping, drinks and yummy treats!”
– Vanessa Cotto
“Hearing the lineup for the Treasure Island Music Fest is like Christmas morning for me.”
– Jenna Archulau
“I usually only remember about a fourth of the day of the Union Street Festival, so that must mean I have fun.”
– Katie Lindley
“After about 15 minutes at the Folsom Street Fair, you’ll never be shocked by anything else you see in your life ever again.”
– Brian McGraw
