For SF, a restaurant opening is on par with a Hollywood movie premiere. Throw in some well known names, and you’ve got yourself a blockbuster hit. Last week we asked you:
WHICH CHEF GETS YOUR STANDING OVATION?
OUR SCOUT SAYS:
David Barzelay of the underground restaurant Lazy Bear. There are few meals that I remember every single bite of, but this is definitely one of them. The dinner I attended ended in Chocolate Chip Cookies, Sous Vide and I swear Sinead O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares To You” started playing in my head. I highly recommend connecting with Lazy Bear on Twitter and Facebook to make sure you’re at the next dinner.
"Tyler Florence, all the way down!"
- Pete Hilary
"Elisabeth Prueitt and Chad Robertson of Tartine, for sure."
- Aubrey Mason
"I can't stay away from Locanda thanks to Chef Anthony Strong."
- Mariel Kush
"Anything Charles Phan does, I am down with."
- Anne McCafferty
"The Fifth Floor's David Bazirgan didn't win Eater's Hottest Chef in America just because of his good looks... his food is a–mazing!"
- Chris Gusterson
"I could eat Matthew Accarrino's creations (SPQR) all day every day for the rest of my life."
- Nathan Montgomery
NEXT WEEK’S WHAT SAY YOU: WHAT DOES SAN FRANCISCO MEAN TO YOU?
We all know SF isn’t just a city, it’s piece of our hearts. When outsiders ask “Why do you love it so much?” how do you respond? Hit us up on Twitter or Facebook.
